The mystery behind Bloober Team’s Nintendo exclusive known as “Project M” has been revealed. During yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, Bloober Team and their development studio Broken Mirror Games announced Onyx: The Dark Grip, a 2.5D supernatural horror game coming to the Switch 2 next year.
Details on the game are still to come, but Bloober Team did provide a brief overview:
Survive as a vessel and interfere as a god in this 2.5D supernatural horror game. Play as the mysterious Entity, guiding the actions of a lone traveler who arrives in a desolate ghost town. Manipulate the environment with your supernatural powers, solve puzzles, confront terrifying creatures and don’t let your puppet descend into the depths of madness. Blur the line between the game world and reality.
Onyx: The Dark Grip will make use of the Switch 2’s touchscreen and tilt mechanics, which will necessitate that the game be played in handheld mode.
