Kawaii metal band BABYMETAL is reteaming with Marvel Zombies on a new collab.
hustl. announced today that BABYMETAL will join Marvel Zombies on a limited-edition variant cover to celebrate the release of Marvel Zombies: War Zone (2026) #1.
The new team-up was inspired by Marvel Animation’s Marvel Zombies on Disney+, after their song “from me to u” was featured in the trailer.
The song was originally released on their record-breaking fourth studio album METAL FORTH, which made its debut last year at #9 on the Billboard 200, marking the first time in history that an all-Japanese-fronted group has made this list. The band is kicking off a world tour this September.
The 3,500-copy limited run features art from Phil Noto and is available now for pre-order through the Capitol Records online store and for the hobby market through hustl. It will be available for pre-order in Japan on September 7.
The original comic with standard cover is available in comic shops starting tomorrow, September 2.
BABYMETAL said in a statement, “We are truly honored to have had the opportunity to collaborate with Marvel, a beloved around the world for so many years. Gracing a comic book cover alongside Marvel’s characters is the best surprise we could have asked for. We hope our fans are as excited as we are!”
In the comic, “A ZOMBIE outbreak has hit Manhattan and the whole city is rapidly overrun! As EARTH’S MIGHTIEST HEROES succumb to the virus, a barrier is hastily erected to protect the world – but inside the barrier, a war zone has broken out as survivors fight for their lives against the ever-growing horde. However, one man isn’t looking for survival – he’s after answers as he carves a bloody swathe of his own through the ravaged city. And if any zombies get in his way? Well, the PUNISHER has plenty of lead that they can eat!“
BABYMETAL formed in 2010 and is fronted by SU-METAL, MOAMETAL, and MOMOMETAL.
