Dawn Of The Dead (2004)
The thought of a remake appearing on this list may very well be vomit-inducing to a few of you but you all have to admit that for as far as remakes go this one nailed it! Fun, gory, exciting, and a damn good ride, this film is a prime example of how to take source material and craft something new and bold while still giving homage to the original.
As for the opening, the film takes its time before the credits roll, giving us some character development for Sarah Polley as well as showing the vast scope of devastation that the zombie plague is creating.
