Nightmare On Elm Street
Imagine seeing a prequel to this franchise done in an almost Se7en-esque way. Rather than follow Freddy as he murders children, making him an anti-hero much like Leslie Vernon or Henry, I’d want to follow the detectives in charge of tracking him down.
Keep it gritty, keep it dark , and make it something with a lot of emotion (hell, this is a bunch of children he’s murdering here!), and make sure to add in some very slight supernatural elements throughout, and you better believe that it’d be one hell of an effective movie.
