Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross – Gone Girl
First, if you don’t hear the Twin Peaks similarities in here then shame on you. Second this haunting score offers a lovely twist on the empty and alienating music from Trent Reznor. It’s captivating and the piano work is almost ghostly. It inspires a sense of longing and a strange warmth that I would never attribute to the film, but as far as modern scores go this is my absolute favorite.
