Deliver Us From Evil
This is the first example of a movie trying way too hard. It simply did not let up on trying to scare me. It would pump a scene full of as many scares as possible, trying to get a rise out of me and failing damn near every time.
I know that a lot of people are behind Scott Derickson, especially after 2012’s highly appreciated Sinister (which I was personally not a fan of). However, I find that I’m just not a fan of his work.
