We caught up with director Scott Dow who breaks down his five favorite horror spoofs, from Scary Movie to Shaun of the Dead.

“The original. Yes, it’s really, really silly but also who cares it was also really, really funny! The Wayans Brothers definitely put spoof comedy back on the map and with their own unique, goofy style. It’s great, I remember it was fun to see lot’s of topical jokes get thrown into the mix, all the while taking the Slasher genre down a few notches which it deserved, because those films were almost a dime a doz’ at that point. Scary Movie was way different from Airplane! or anything before. I think and I know I’m not alone on this, but once the Wayans stopped directing these films they lost their charm, but the first was pretty solid.”
