What is Your Favorite Stephen King Novel?

Stephen King

1. Misery

Here it is: my absolute favorite Stephen King novel (coincidentally it’s also my favorite film adaptation of one of his works). Misery is pure genius and everyone, whether they are King fan or not, should read it. Annie Wilkes is one of the most terrifying characters ever written and the infamous hobbling scene still makes me cringe. If you’ve only seen the movie, do yourself a favor and give this book a read because it’s so much more intense in the novel. Any time I smell sugar cookies I always think of Misery (there are constant negative references to how Annie’s breath always smells like them). For mainly being set in a bedroom, the book is never boring, and you really root for Paul Sheldon. I love this book so much that it’s possibly my favorite novel of all time. Read it now!

Stephen King

So now that you know my favorite Stephen King novels, tell me some of yours! After looking over all of the books he has written, it’s painfully obvious I have a lot of reading to do in my future. What do you think I left out? Did I blaspheme by leaving out The Shining (it’s one of my least favorites out of all the one’s I’ve read)? Which novels should be mandatory reading for any King fan? Let me know in the comments below!

Oh, and in case you aren’t already: follow Stephen King on Twitter. He’s quite entertaining.
