Krampus

Not much was revealed about Michael Dougherty’s (Trick ‘r Treat) Christmas horror film, but it debuted a fantastically retro poster and a new look at the titular beast. I have a feeling it will flop at the theater (horror movies released in December don’t have the best track record, unless you’re Scream), but I’m incredibly stoked about this one.

M. Night Shyamalan

Shyamalan has had a rough go of it at the box office over the past decade. I can understand why (although I thought Devil, which was produced by him, was quite fun), but he’s been on an upswing recently with his Fox series “Waywward Pines”. The Visit, which he claims to be his first true horror film, could be the career-reviving thing he needs right now! The trailer gives a bit too much away, but it looks like a solid horror film!

Rick and Morty

We keep hounding all of you to watch this brilliant show (from Community creator Dan Harmon), and for good reason: it’s brilliant! I try not to use too many superlatives in my writing, as I feel that it diminishes the quality of my opinion to use them too frequently, but Rick and Morty is well-deserving of one. If you aren’t watching it already, get on it now! The Season 1 Blu-Ray is only $14.99 on Amazon! For those of you who already watch it, we learned that Mr. Meeseeks will be returning this season!

Horror Television

With networks debuting fantastic trailers (Ash Vs. Evil Dead, Hannibal, Damien) or announcing season renewals (Salem, Scream), horror television was one of the main highlights of #SDCC 15.  Oh! And don’t forget about The Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead and Robert Kirkman’s new Cinemax series Outcast! Dare I say 2015 might be a better year for horror television than horror films?
