Event Horizon
I’m fully expecting to get some serious flack for this one but I’m ready to take it!
You see, I thought this movie was fucking TERRIFYING when it came out on home video (my parents wouldn’t let me see it in theaters). Seriously, it gave me nightmares and I loved every second of it. But as I got older, it became less frightening and more…blah. I guess I’m trying to say that this movie simply didn’t age well, at least not in my book.
But if a remake was done where they married CGI – which has grown by leaps and bounds since this movie’s release 18 years ago – and practical FX in the proper dosages, this could very well be a film that terrifies all over again. Can you imagine if they actually showed what the Hell dimension looked like using models and actual sets? I’m totally aware that it could be a huge hit or an even bigger flop, but I feel like this is a property that could stand to take that risk.
