Devin Townsend – The Devin Townsend Project
If ever there was someone that I could say was the “Danny Elfman of the metal world”, Devin Townsend would be that someone. There’s a reason that people describe him as a mad genius. It’s because he creates albums that are huge, dynamic, and utterly insane while being an absolute delight to listen to. Plus, he knows how to go from one extreme to the other. Above is “Juular” from Deconstruction, which is a massively heavy album. But go to Ghost and you’ll find yourself swimming in an ocean of ambient beauty.
I could see Townsend scoring a horror film in the vein of Sleepy Hollow or Resident Evil. It would need to be a movie with a lot of atmosphere but also a lot of action and exciting sequences.
