5. Halloween II (1981)
The skull in the pumpkin is brilliant, and it’s a creepy image. The text all over the poster make it seem like an album cover, though. The “ALL NEW” text is particularly confounding. Obviously it’s new. Why else would we be seeing its poster in the theater? Unless there was some other film named Halloween II that came out recently, that text was completely unnecessary. Also, the tagline is just a modification of the original’s tagline. Talk about a lack of imagination.
