Norman Spencer – What Lies Beneath
I saw What Lies Beneath in theaters while I was visiting my grandparents the summer of 2000, and it still stands out as one of the best theatrical experiences of my life. This is because it has one of the best jump scares ever put on film (in my opinion at least). I remember screaming out loud when Ford pulled up Michelle Pfeiffer’s body only to rest her back in the tub to reveal a ghostly blue face. The entire theater screamed along with me. This was the first time I had ever seen Ford in a villainous role (wasn’t that twist awesome?) and he nailed it. This is one of my favorite films I’ve ever seen him in, and Norman Spencer still creeps me out to this day.
