By now, many of you have probably stumbled out of bed with a mouth that tastes like the decaying corpse of a body made from sickeningly sweet candy and some form of booze. Hey, no judgments here! Sounds like you had a kickass Halloween last night and I hope you have many fond memories to look back upon!
Coming to today, it’s a chance for you to rest up as you suffering through a sugar crash and/or a hangover. And what better way to recover from those horrible maladies than by continuing the horror by watching several movies?
So, I’ve got a few suggestions for movies I’d watch to cure my own hangover and then I want you to share some of yours!
The Ring
I don’t know why but this movie just feels like the perfect thing to watch while wrapped up in blanket and laying in bed. It’s visually quite dark, so you won’t have to squint your eyes that much, and it doesn’t get terribly loud too often, so your headache won’t be triggered that often.
The Hitcher
This is the opposite of The Ring in terms of visuals. You’re probably going to want to turn down the brightness of your laptop or TV if you pop this on but I assure you that you’ll have a damn good time watching it! It’s a simple story to follow, it’s got action and thrills, and Rutger Hauer is the bad guy. ‘Nuff said.
The Others
Yet another slow burner, The Others is great because it’s not flashy, it’s not crazy, and it’s easy to follow. Again, because the of the children and their aversion to sunlight, you get a movie that’s mostly dark, so it won’t strain your eyes. In all honesty, it’s a rather soothing movie that plays out almost poetically, unfolding at a hypnotizing and comforting pace.
