Deftones – Koi No Yokan
Some may find it strange that I’m picking the band’s latest album as the one to suggest. However, please remember that I’m suggesting albums to get people into the genre, not to get into discographies.
If you haven’t heard Koi No Yokan yet, you’re seriously missing out. It’s an album that really embraces the concept of beauty and anger combining into something special and memorable, all while featuring astonishing songwriting and accessible material.
For those concerned about how much Chino Moreno screams, keep in mind that when he does use that vocal style that it matches what the music is doing. When the melodies soar, so do his vocals. His range on this album is simply amazing and it should be recognized.
