Lamb of God – VII: Sturm und Drang
After the exhausting and difficult trials that vocalist Randy Blythe went through in 2012 and 2013, the idea that the band would come back together and release another album was nigh well unthinkable. After all, such a traumatic event (I’m not downplaying Daniel Nosek’s death at all here, okay?) must’ve been mentally exhausting and draining for Blythe, who is such an integral part of the sound of LoG.
But come back they did and with an album that proved they still have that ferocity and aggression, all while maintaining that badass groove they’re known for. Blythe used Sturm und Drang as an outlet for many of the feelings lingering after the whole Czech experience and it shows in his raw emotional intensity.
