The Great Discord – Duende
This album was something I was intrigued by for a while but it took our premiere of the acoustic version of “The Aging Man” to get me to really dive into them. Once I put the album on, I knew that I’d found something incredibly special, something that should be heard by as many people as possible.
It’s an album that’s near impossible to describe. At its core, it’s metal. But there is so much more going on here that it’d be a disservice to simply dump it under that label and move on. There’s stunning beauty in the melancholic passages that permeate the tracks. There is wonder to be held at the clever dance that many instruments conduct with each other. It’s an album that makes you fall in love with music all over again.
