Cattle Decapitation – The Anthropocene Extinction
There’s a reason these guys are considered by many to be the masters of their craft. It’s because they write blistering metal that is surprisingly groovy and accessible while still being absolutely evil-sounding and monstrous. It’s the album you put on when you need to headbang away all your pissed off emotions.
I want to also state Dave McGraw is also an absolute beast behind a drum kit. He needs to be considered one of the greats of this generation. And vocalist Travis Ryan shines throughout, going from the most guttural of growls to rasping demonic shrieks that hold surprisingly melodious and thoughtful melodies. Yes, even over all that blistering destructive deathgrind.
