31 (Alchemy/Front Row Filmed Entertainment/Lionsgate Premiere) – Sundance World Premiere
Rob Zombie seems to evoke strong reactions from people. They either absolutely adore his work or loathe it, and they are likely to vocalize their opinions all over the internet. 31 will probably not be nay different, but it sounds like a lot of fun. In a plot that sounds like The Purge had a baby with Saw, five carnival workers are held hostage in a place where they are forced to participate in a violent game, the goal of which is to survive twelve hours against a gang of evil clowns. After having to edit the film to get an R-rating, it may not be quite as brutal as Zombie intended, but rest assured that the impact won’t be lost. Rob Zombie may not be for all tastes, but you can’t deny that there is enough on display here to spark some curiosity.
