In Narcosis, the horrors aren’t of the supernatural, undead or demonic persuasion. What makes this game so frightening is in how realistically it emulates what it’s like to be isolated and alone at the bottom of the ocean with limited oxygen and a tenuous grip on your own sanity that threatens to come undone by the murky abyss that surrounds you. It’s a visceral terror that could only come from a scenario that could absolutely happen — if you’re planning on pursuing a career as an industrial diver.
