The Cabin In The Woods
Whenever I put together post-millennial horror lists I always include this at the end. I love the way it references many classic horror films and wraps them up under the modern template of fast editing, stupid storyline, and whacky cameos. I think this bring us full circle with The House of the Devil, which also trots out a tried and true horror setting. Saw, Sinister, and REC throw the line out nicely, and Cabin brings us right back to dry land, by way of a ridiculous ending. Well, it’s a better ending than House of the Devil has.
