Rule number one… no screaming.
From Veva Entertainment and Spooky Voodoo Pictures comes director Alex Kahuam‘s upcoming proof-of-concept short Red Light, starring Ted Raimi (“Ash vs. Evil Dead,” “Deadwax”) and Brian Krause (“Charmed,” “Cypher”). Raimi, who also produced the short, has exclusively shared a few first-look images with us today, along with some insights.
Raimi told us, “The filmmakers created Red Light with me in mind. I have known producer Marco De Molina for a long time. We’ve been wanting to make a horror slasher film for several years now and he called me one day with a new idea. It’s about these two brothers with an extreme moral code who enact brutal vengeance on corrupt and immoral twenty- somethings. It really felt like a horror idea for our times.”
“When I read the script I absolutely loved it and we started the talk,” he continued, “Marco mentioned he already had Brian Krause on board as well and that just sealed the deal for me since I always liked Brian’s work I decided to come on board as Producer alongside Marco and we shot a couple scenes of the feature film. The intention is to use this as a proof of concept to attract the means of getting the film made. Alex has a great eye and a taste for the dark side. It’s a trip, this short.”
In Red Light, “An obnoxious social media influencer and a group of friends on their way to a Halloween party find themselves in a grim world of hell when they run into two twisted brothers. Not even one of their live- streaming, million-plus followers can help them now.”
