‘Bite’ Director Gets Married Ahead of Sitges Premiere

Here’s a fun bit of news out of the Sitges Film Festival.

Bloody Disgusting learned that director Chad Archibald was married ahead of the premiere of Bite at Sitges, and has some exclusive photos from the event and film.

“Today I married my best friend on the same mountain I proposed to her on three years ago. We travelled for hours to get there with some of my best friends (and also the team from Bite) and it was the most legendary day of my life,” Archibald told Bloody Disgusting. “We returned to Sitges to introduce the Spanish premiere of Bite. On stage we brought my new bride up, and to a ferocious crowd of horror fans, she threw our bouquet – and like a swarm of locusts they dove for it. We watched the film with one of the best audiences we’ve ever seen. They cheered and laughed, and as we watched Casey’s journey through questioning her relationship, we never once questioned ours. We would love to thank the Sitges Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya and everyone who attended for making our wedding night so insanely special. We love you, Sitges!”

Breakthrough Entertainment is behind Chad Archibald’s (The Drownsman) indie horror starring Elma Begovic, Annette Wozniak, and Jordan Gray.

“While on her bachelorette party getaway, Casey, the bride to be, gets a seemingly harmless bite from an unknown insect. After returning home with cold feet, Casey tries to call off her wedding but before she’s able to, she starts exhibiting insect like traits. Between her physical transformation and her wedding anxiety, Casey succumbs to her new instincts and begins creating a hive that not only houses her translucent eggs, but feeds on the flesh of others. As her transformation becomes complete, Casey discovers that everything can change with a single bite.“

For whatever reason this reminds me of a mix between Meet the Applegates and The Fly, which is pretty cool.
