WORLD OF DEATH EP. 79 – Maltese / Cat Lover

Published

on

Welcome back everybody!

Did everyone enjoy their weekend?  Still stunned by that big premiere of INVADERS last week?  I know we are.  However, we still have to chug along and continue serving up the best in indie horror.  No time to take a breath.  Submerge yourself once again in a couple tales of terror we have for you on this Monday in Mid-May.
We hope everyone enjoyed their Mother’s Day yesterday and got to spend it with someone they love.  Not every woman is a mother, obviously, but a lot of them do own “fur babies.”   Personally, that word makes me cringe and if you call your pets that, then I hope it at least fills any void in your life as you deem necessary.  Today’s films are centered around a couple of ferocious fur babies that are sure to make any future pet owner think twice.
First, we have a movie called MALTESE by director Ashton Golembo.  No this isn’t the Maltese Falcon with Bogart.  This is something WAY different.  A couple is relaxing on the couch on a lazy afternoon when they begin to hear noises in the house.  They investigate the strange noises… Because that’s always a good idea in a fucking horror movie.  When the man decides to check out the basement, he finds the culprit and it’s not exactly what anyone is expecting.  This one might make you think twice next time someone asks you to pet their cute lil pupper.
Next, director Justin McConnell brings us CAT LOVER.  This is a short one.  Probably one of our shortest shorts that ever shorted.  A cat-loving woman has a gentleman caller over for dinner and drinks.  When things begin to heat up, they take it to the bedroom, where he finally gets to meet her furry feline friend.  They say every cat has their own personality.  Unfortunately, this cat has the personality of Jack the Ripper.  You’ll be sure to enjoy this commercial-sized exercise in terror and reconsider swiping right on that cat-loving hipster chick you saw on Tinder.
So that’s all for now.  Thanks for tuning in again this week and we’ll continue to bring you the gore.  Se you all Thursday!
Roll it!

Anna Faris & Regina Hall Promise ‘Scary Movie’ Will “Offend Everyone;” New Images Revealed

The Wayans are out to cancel the Cancel Culture with Scary Movie, and the cast assures it will do just that.

“They sort of have an across-the-board style,” Anna Faris tells EW. “It’s always been a part of the Wayans Brothers, their electricity. ‘Can we offend you? Will you still love us? Come on, you still love us, don’t you?'”

Regina Hall concurs, promising the “boundary-pushing” sixth installment in the horror parody franchise will “offend everyone.”

EW has shared a batch of behind-the-scenes images from Scary Movie, which hits theaters June 5 via Paramount.

Faris and Hall are joined by fellow franchise favorites Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams in the legacy sequel.

The ensemble includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Kenan Thompson, and Felissa Rose.

Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).

The film will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and everyfinal chapterthat absolutely isn’t final.

Scary Movie launched in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. The Wayans’ involvement ended there, but the series continued with 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.
