WORLD OF DEATH Ep. 92 – Monsters
Hello, my loyal viewers!
I’m back for another WORLD OF DEATH premiere! Did you miss me? I missed all of you. I hope you’ve all enjoyed some of the new WOD writers. I think we picked some real knockouts! The weekend is almost here and for some of us it will be a long weekend of relaxation or maybe a little getaway for the celebration of America’s independence. Fourth of July weekend is usually a time spent with your close friends and family. Sometimes Uncle Bob gets a little too tipsy and blows half a finger off with an M-80, but that’s what makes it exciting, right?!
So playing off the family and independence theme of the weekend, we are pleased to bring you the WORLD OF DEATH Premiere of MONSTERS! Director Steve Desmond brings you a heart-stopping short that will leave you guessing until the end. MONSTERS is about a small nuclear family seemingly living underground and away from an outside world overrun by monsters. The youngest child has spent her whole life in this fallout shelter and been told stories of the visceral and ferocious monsters roaming the Earth, in hopes that one day, normal life will resume. However, the girls is turning 10 years old and becoming too curious for her own good. She decides to muster up all of her courage and sneaks out while the rest of her family is on their daily supply runs. What she encounters on the outside will haunt her forever.
This film embodies what we strive to show you here at WORLD OF DEATH. It keeps you guessing throughout the entire film, while also giving you a sour feeling in the pit of your stomach. The pacing is perfect and slowly builds to a climax that you may or may not see coming. The set design of the fallout shelter is great in contrast to the actual outside world and the juxtaposition will put everything into perspective. The performance of the daughter stands out the most in the film, as it should. This is her story, told through her eyes. She resembles a young Katniss Everdeen in her preparation about to kick some monster ass and cycles through a number of emotions throughout the film. The short also features 80s heartthrob Ione Skye (Say Anything)! The rest, you’ll just have to see for yourself. I don’t want to talk about this one too much. The surprise is just too damn good!
So without further ado, my viewers, WORLD OF DEATH presents to you…MONSTERS.

Anna Faris & Regina Hall Promise ‘Scary Movie’ Will “Offend Everyone;” New Images Revealed
The Wayans are out to cancel the Cancel Culture with Scary Movie, and the cast assures it will do just that.
“They sort of have an across-the-board style,” Anna Faris tells EW. “It’s always been a part of the Wayans Brothers, their electricity. ‘Can we offend you? Will you still love us? Come on, you still love us, don’t you?'”
Regina Hall concurs, promising the “boundary-pushing” sixth installment in the horror parody franchise will “offend everyone.”
EW has shared a batch of behind-the-scenes images from Scary Movie, which hits theaters June 5 via Paramount.
Faris and Hall are joined by fellow franchise favorites Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams in the legacy sequel.
The ensemble includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Kenan Thompson, and Felissa Rose.
Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).
The film will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t final.
Scary Movie launched in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. The Wayans’ involvement ended there, but the series continued with 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.
