WORLD OF DEATH Ep. 109 – Selfie / Monitor

Published

on

Welcome Friends and Neighbors to another installment of your favorite indulgence, World of Death! Today we bring you a pairing of frights that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I know you lead a busy life, so today’s presentation adheres to that old adage, since brevity is the soul of wit, we shall be brief.

First to behold is the tale as old as time, written in this form by R.J. Wilson and entitled for our age, “Selfie”. A young girl focuses her attention on her most prized and beloved subject, herself. As she gleefully spends her afternoon crafting her own photo-shoot, she notices something is rotten in the state of her smartphone. Ah, yes she hath found a violet in the youth of her primary nature, forward yet not permanent, sweet yet not lasting. What exactly does she spy in her selfie images? Watch and see, but beware, the best safety lies in fear, youth itself rebels, though none else are near.

Our second offering comes from Vince Tasso and is entitled “Monitor”. This time we watch a mundane complication that we are all familiar with, the eternal struggle with the petulant machinery that rules our lives. Oh, how absolutely frustrating it is when the devices we rely on fail to function adequately. Now watch as this man chooses not to suffer the slings and arrows of computer malfunction, but by opposing them and no longer grunt and sweat under a weary life. But be aware, those who take arms against a sea of troubles may themselves their quietus make!

That is all for this week. Be wary when you indulge yourself in vanity, for the inward service of the mind and soul grows withal. The devices we work with, be familiar but by no means vulgar, lest you hoist your own petard. And be sure to tune in next time as we present another pair of memories locked, for you yourself shall keep the key of it. Thanks for watching!

Anna Faris & Regina Hall Promise ‘Scary Movie’ Will “Offend Everyone;” New Images Revealed

The Wayans are out to cancel the Cancel Culture with Scary Movie, and the cast assures it will do just that.

“They sort of have an across-the-board style,” Anna Faris tells EW. “It’s always been a part of the Wayans Brothers, their electricity. ‘Can we offend you? Will you still love us? Come on, you still love us, don’t you?'”

Regina Hall concurs, promising the “boundary-pushing” sixth installment in the horror parody franchise will “offend everyone.”

EW has shared a batch of behind-the-scenes images from Scary Movie, which hits theaters June 5 via Paramount.

Faris and Hall are joined by fellow franchise favorites Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams in the legacy sequel.

The ensemble includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Kenan Thompson, and Felissa Rose.

Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).

The film will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and everyfinal chapterthat absolutely isn’t final.

Scary Movie launched in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. The Wayans’ involvement ended there, but the series continued with 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.
