WORLD OF DEATH Ep. 118 – Misogynistic / A Picture Worth a Thousand Words

Published

on

Well hello there friends and neighbors, I see you have returned for another look at the dark and depraved World of Death. I can’t stay away either, it is a ritual, something that draws me in over and over to witness horrors that I can’t stop talking about. We go about our days, a series of tasks, all with the notion in the back of our heads that soon enough it will be time again. And as we click and tap our way past the other unspeakable horrors surrounding, we make our way to the main event. The smile slithers onto our faces as we focus on strangers, stalking in the night, oh my, look at those maniacs go! It is the creepiest show!

Speaking of creepy, take Tim Pronovost’s selection this week. “Misogynistic” is another relatable tale. Our subject, a viewer in his own right, walks the same route every day. He looks in through what I can only imagine is this young woman’s Rear Window. Oh, but she is not desirable for her own beauty. Her bad habits are quite the annoyance to our friend here. Still, this ‘Psycho’ does not look away. He keeps track of the habits. One must take detailed notes if they seek to correct the poor behavior one sees. So he decides that she simply must receive a lesson in decency.

Does that little tale of sickness strike a soft spot? Perhaps the next story will be the final knockout that brings home the belt. In Bennie Woodell’s “A Picture Worth a Thousand Words” we are witness to the inner struggle of a working-class bum seeking a rise to fame. Fame is quite the elusive challenge for this pugilist, however. In a dark noir story, we come to realize that there are many roads to becoming famous. No matter what, if it doesn’t come easy, you must train and keep at it. Our boxing bravo in this story will not stop. He will continue, as much as he needs to, going through as many people as he can, until one day he is acknowledged for all of his brutal work. It is just a shame that he has to beat his way through so many on his rise to the top.

Well that is it for this week. I hope you enjoyed watching these flickering glimpses into the lives of others as much as I did. After all, we are all voyeurs of the night things. Until next time, keep watching!

Anna Faris & Regina Hall Promise ‘Scary Movie’ Will “Offend Everyone;” New Images Revealed

Published

The Wayans are out to cancel the Cancel Culture with Scary Movie, and the cast assures it will do just that.

“They sort of have an across-the-board style,” Anna Faris tells EW. “It’s always been a part of the Wayans Brothers, their electricity. ‘Can we offend you? Will you still love us? Come on, you still love us, don’t you?'”

Regina Hall concurs, promising the “boundary-pushing” sixth installment in the horror parody franchise will “offend everyone.”

EW has shared a batch of behind-the-scenes images from Scary Movie, which hits theaters June 5 via Paramount.

Faris and Hall are joined by fellow franchise favorites Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams in the legacy sequel.

The ensemble includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Kenan Thompson, and Felissa Rose.

Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).

The film will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and everyfinal chapterthat absolutely isn’t final.

Scary Movie launched in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. The Wayans’ involvement ended there, but the series continued with 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.
