WORLD OF DEATH Ep. 143 – Party Animals
Oh, the weather outside is frightful, and the hibernating animals ain’t so delightful. Since there’s no place to go… let blood flow, let blood flow, let blood flow!
Will Morris’s “Party Animals” tells the story of a group of anthropomorphic woodland critters (2 rabbits, a wolf, a deer, a fox, and a turtle) who convene at the mansion of the all-powerful Mr. Bear one evening for supper. The alpha predator informs his guests that they are all invited to take part in a game. The rules are simple, the last animal standing inherits all of the bear’s property. Naturally, it doesn’t take long for the carnage to ensue.
While the premise may not be the most original story floating around as of late, last man standing gets this, that or the other thing, that doesn’t make it any less entertaining. I found the use of animals to be a unique take on the plot. We all know how greedy and violent people can get, but I often feel people forget that it’s because we’re only animals at heart. I also found it very humorous how the language for the film is animal speak, or whatever you’d call it. Perhaps the only downside to that is you are stuck reading subtitles if you want to know what’s going on. I’d also like to take note of the animal costumes, or rather, lack thereof. It was very intriguing to see the actors and actresses dressed up with little more than a mask in order to signify the character they were portraying, the rest of their wardrobe being human clothes. It was a nice touch and added a slight macabre feeling to the overall film. My only minor complaint about the animal masks would be that it renders you unable to see any kind of expressions from the actors, taking away a level of body language.
Minor issues aside, after viewing this film you will certainly be entertained, you will certainly think twice before going over the river and through the woods to visit granny, you might disturb the animals. And the next time you accidentally hit a deer with your car, you better pray the other deer don’t find out about it. And it might take a little bit more than standing tall and waving your arms to ward off a bear, don’t say I didn’t warn you!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a very happy new year!

Anna Faris & Regina Hall Promise ‘Scary Movie’ Will “Offend Everyone;” New Images Revealed
The Wayans are out to cancel the Cancel Culture with Scary Movie, and the cast assures it will do just that.
“They sort of have an across-the-board style,” Anna Faris tells EW. “It’s always been a part of the Wayans Brothers, their electricity. ‘Can we offend you? Will you still love us? Come on, you still love us, don’t you?'”
Regina Hall concurs, promising the “boundary-pushing” sixth installment in the horror parody franchise will “offend everyone.”
EW has shared a batch of behind-the-scenes images from Scary Movie, which hits theaters June 5 via Paramount.
Faris and Hall are joined by fellow franchise favorites Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams in the legacy sequel.
The ensemble includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Kenan Thompson, and Felissa Rose.
Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).
The film will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t final.
Scary Movie launched in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. The Wayans’ involvement ended there, but the series continued with 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.
