WORLD OF DEATH Ep. 150 – Sleep

Published

on

Welcome back to all of our loyal fans!

I couldn’t be happier to present to you this latest milestone for World of Death. This is episode 150! We may not have tied with such 80’s classics as Perfect Strangers, Webster or the riveting Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. But, can you believe it’s already been 150 episodes of gut-wrenching gore and calamitous kills? We’ve done our best to provide you with the best in independent horror and we couldn’t be more pleased with the loyalty you have shown us. Without this vast network of both filmmakers and crews and fans of the genre alike, [cliche alert] we wouldn’t be here without you, so cheers to you! This one is for all you creeps and creepettes vicariously viewing this WORLD OF DEATH event.

Today, we’re only serving up one course for you, but it’s a juicy prime cut from our vault. A friend of the WORLD OF DEATH team, director/writer/animator Christoph Younes brings us the simply named SLEEP. Chris is an extremely talented stop-motion animator and shows off his skills in this terrifying tale of Tom. Tom has been left at home by his mom and starts to creep himself out bit by bit as he decides to make his way to his bedroom to turn in for the night. As he gets himself tucked in, the noises become more and more intense and he must come face to face with his fears. Are they warranted or just figments of his imagination? You’ll have to watch to find out. This has the feel of a Tool music video in the cinematic universe of the Insidious films. I was a big fan of the score and eerie string cues driving the story and creating the atmosphere. You almost forget you’re watching stop-motion animation, but at the same time, the deliberate sloppiness of the clay is jarring and gives the viewer an uneasy feeling. Overall, we think you’ll be very pleased with this.

Thank you all for hanging with us for 150 episodes and we hope to be here for 150 more, bringing you the best in indie horror. We literally can’t do this without you, so if you have a short horror film, make sure you submit it to us and maybe you could be featured in an episode!

Anyway, ROLL IT!
– Dominick DeLuca

Anna Faris & Regina Hall Promise ‘Scary Movie’ Will “Offend Everyone;” New Images Revealed

Published

The Wayans are out to cancel the Cancel Culture with Scary Movie, and the cast assures it will do just that.

“They sort of have an across-the-board style,” Anna Faris tells EW. “It’s always been a part of the Wayans Brothers, their electricity. ‘Can we offend you? Will you still love us? Come on, you still love us, don’t you?'”

Regina Hall concurs, promising the “boundary-pushing” sixth installment in the horror parody franchise will “offend everyone.”

EW has shared a batch of behind-the-scenes images from Scary Movie, which hits theaters June 5 via Paramount.

Faris and Hall are joined by fellow franchise favorites Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams in the legacy sequel.

The ensemble includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Kenan Thompson, and Felissa Rose.

Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).

The film will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and everyfinal chapterthat absolutely isn’t final.

Scary Movie launched in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. The Wayans’ involvement ended there, but the series continued with 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.
