WORLD OF DEATH Ep. 172 – “Death Metal”
What’s up, savages??
Ready for another dose of in your face indie horror coming at you from your favorite folks here at World of Death and Bloody Disgusting? Well crank up the dial on your speakers and throw up your horns, because this one’s going to melt your fucking faces off.
Directed by Chris McInroy, we bring you DEATH METAL. This one is about your friendly neighborhood metalhead just out in the park, strumming on his axe and trying to make a few bucks in the process. There’s only one problem… he sucks. After getting a little advice from dear old dad, he is given the family heirloom guitar. But it’s not your ordinary guitar! Now with great power, comes great responsibility (Pardon my Spider-Man references today, I still have Infinity War on the brain). There are a few rules one must follow to wield such a powerful axe, like a mogwai. But rules were meant to be broken.
I got a kick out of this one. And speaking of kick, I noticed a mention of Kickstarter in the credits, which always makes me happy to know people are out there willing to help others achieve their dreams. Those backers definitely got back what they put in. This one is funny and bloody. Two of my favorite traits in horror. They really pulled out all the stops and made the effort with the practical effects, and it paid off. Every single one was worth watching and brought the value of film way up. With people in the credits listed with names such as No Arm Girl and Belly Hole Guy, you know I’m not just blowing smoke up your ass.
So go ahead and take a few minutes and enjoy the movie. Make Dio proud.
Roll it!
– Dominick DeLuca

Anna Faris & Regina Hall Promise ‘Scary Movie’ Will “Offend Everyone;” New Images Revealed
The Wayans are out to cancel the Cancel Culture with Scary Movie, and the cast assures it will do just that.
“They sort of have an across-the-board style,” Anna Faris tells EW. “It’s always been a part of the Wayans Brothers, their electricity. ‘Can we offend you? Will you still love us? Come on, you still love us, don’t you?'”
Regina Hall concurs, promising the “boundary-pushing” sixth installment in the horror parody franchise will “offend everyone.”
EW has shared a batch of behind-the-scenes images from Scary Movie, which hits theaters June 5 via Paramount.
Faris and Hall are joined by fellow franchise favorites Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams in the legacy sequel.
The ensemble includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Kenan Thompson, and Felissa Rose.
Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).
The film will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t final.
Scary Movie launched in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. The Wayans’ involvement ended there, but the series continued with 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.
