[World of Death] ‘The Clown’, ‘Remote’ and ‘Within the Window’

What’s up World of Death watchers??

It’s been a while since I’ve been around to introduce you to some more of our shocking shorts here at WoD and I’ve missed you all. With spring right around the corner, this month’s episode is sure to help warm things up after a brutal winter here in the Midwest. We have an epic cinematic triathlon for you guys, featuring three shorts sure to darken your day.

First up, director Justin Brooks brings us Within the Window. A woman who is home alone, feels a slight chill in her apartment and goes to close the window. However, when she gets there, there’s an unsuspecting stranger staring back at her from the other side. This one features a strong performance from actress Emily Bennett, as she gives us 2 minutes of being absolutely terrified. There is some good tension building and concludes with an ending that caught me off guard a bit. The makeup of the stranger is very well done and helps bring the horror to this one. Watch with the lights off.

Next in our three-reel marathon of carnage is one of our longer shorts coming in at around 20 minutes. Hailing from Canada, director Marc Roussel sends us a mind-fuck of a short called Remote. In this one, a brutal winter storm has created a connection from the future to the past through the television screen. A man begins talking to a woman who lived in his apartment 30 years prior and that is where the fun begins. Anchored by a few solid performances and plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing where it’s going, you’ll be sure to stick around until the end. I’m going to let this one speak for itself.

If you’re as tired of killer clowns as I am, then get pumped for one more. The Clown comes to us from writer/director Cody Wareham. In this short, a woman is confronted by a clown with a nifty little horn. I’m pretty sure, in the grand scheme of things, this was shot as a pitch for a much larger movie, so I understand that we’re only seeing a snippet of something greater. I’ll you this much… after reviewing all three shorts for today’s episode, the one thing that kept playing in my head was that fucking horn. Bravo to Cody Wareham on invading my brain and good luck in the future if this ever becomes a feature. I’ll be there with horns…er….bells on.

Roll it!

Anna Faris & Regina Hall Promise ‘Scary Movie’ Will “Offend Everyone;” New Images Revealed

Published

The Wayans are out to cancel the Cancel Culture with Scary Movie, and the cast assures it will do just that.

“They sort of have an across-the-board style,” Anna Faris tells EW. “It’s always been a part of the Wayans Brothers, their electricity. ‘Can we offend you? Will you still love us? Come on, you still love us, don’t you?'”

Regina Hall concurs, promising the “boundary-pushing” sixth installment in the horror parody franchise will “offend everyone.”

EW has shared a batch of behind-the-scenes images from Scary Movie, which hits theaters June 5 via Paramount.

Faris and Hall are joined by fellow franchise favorites Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams in the legacy sequel.

The ensemble includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Kenan Thompson, and Felissa Rose.

Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).

The film will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and everyfinal chapterthat absolutely isn’t final.

Scary Movie launched in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. The Wayans’ involvement ended there, but the series continued with 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.
