[World of Death] November’s Bloody With “Vinyl”, “Transmission”, and “Prisma”

Published

Hey there, WOD watchers!

Welcome back to another great episode of World of Death. I hope everyone had a spooktastic and gruesomely good Halloween season. I know we did. Holy shit, it just blew by and here we are… on the brink of… dare I say it… CHRISTMAS. But at least we’ll get to stuff our faces with some turkey or tofurkey or whatever your preference is, until then. In the meantime, how about stuffing your delicious little brains with some bad-ass horror shorts that we’re serving up today for your viewing pleasure.

First up, we have “Vinyl”, directed by Larry Alan. This one features a couple of stoners coming home from the record store to listen to their new haul for the day. After noticing a strange smell of death coming from one of the records, they decide to play it and see what’s on it. With the strong comeback of vinyl these days, this one will surely resonate with the horror crowd. All of our favorite horror film soundtracks are now on vinyl! I think I would even pick up a replica copy of the album featured in this one…

Next up, we have “Transmission”, from directors Varun Raman and Tom Hancock. This one is a trip. To be honest, I don’t know what the hell I just watched, but it was pretty cool. It’s like the architect from The Matrix decided to fuck with people and see what he could get away with before breaking a man. Whatever you may get out of this one theme-wise is subjective. What everyone will get is damn fine production value that showcases the quality of filmmaking that we like to bring to you from all over the world.

Lastly, we bring you “Prisma”, brought to us by Coop Cooper. The only way I can explain this short film is by calling it a training video for Skynet. This was ultra-cool and unlike anything we’ve shown on World of Death, thus far. It breaks the fourth wall in a VHS, totally-80s, floppy disk computer kind of way. This one will engage you as the viewer and make you question your own reality. It’s very effective and gets two robotic thumbs up from me.

I hope you all enjoy the brink of winter (except for you spoiled kids in warm climates). And remember… just because October is over, doesn’t mean Halloween has to end. Like Suicide said, “You think this is a fucking costume? This is a way of life!”

Roll it!

Anna Faris & Regina Hall Promise ‘Scary Movie’ Will “Offend Everyone;” New Images Revealed

Published

The Wayans are out to cancel the Cancel Culture with Scary Movie, and the cast assures it will do just that.

“They sort of have an across-the-board style,” Anna Faris tells EW. “It’s always been a part of the Wayans Brothers, their electricity. ‘Can we offend you? Will you still love us? Come on, you still love us, don’t you?'”

Regina Hall concurs, promising the “boundary-pushing” sixth installment in the horror parody franchise will “offend everyone.”

EW has shared a batch of behind-the-scenes images from Scary Movie, which hits theaters June 5 via Paramount.

Faris and Hall are joined by fellow franchise favorites Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams in the legacy sequel.

The ensemble includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Kenan Thompson, and Felissa Rose.

Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).

The film will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and everyfinal chapterthat absolutely isn’t final.

Scary Movie launched in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. The Wayans’ involvement ended there, but the series continued with 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.
