It’s still kind of hard to believe that Stephen King’s sprawling epic The Dark Tower is actually in production, with filming occurring right now in Cape Town, South Africa. But while fans around the world are dying to see The Gunslinger Roland and his adversary, the Man in Black, King warns that the way the film is structured “…may upset some of the fans a little bit.” You see, according to King in a podcast with EW, “[The film] starts sort of in media res, in the middle of the story instead of beginning.”

The film will star Idris Elba as Roland, Matthew McConaughey as the Man in Black, and we’ll also be seeing Fran Kranz, Jackie Earle Haley, Abbey Lee, and Kathryn Wiggins.
Directed by Nikolaj Arcel and produced by Akiva Goldman, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, and Erica Hughes, The Dark Tower will be released on February 17th, 2017.
