Since the turning of the new millennium, horror has brought about some wonderful titles and some interesting trends. Found footage blew up in ways never before seen. We went from vicious gore, such as the Saw and Hostel franchises, to the haunting specters we saw in films like The Conjuring and The Woman in Black. While many feel that the 90’s was a poor time for horror – something I don’t agree with and a statement Daniel Baldwin is actively trying to disprove – I don’t think there are many who will say that horror has been “lackluster” since the year 2000. Sure, there might be a ton of remakes, reboots, and sequels, but that doesn’t stop us from getting a lot of gems that take the genre by storm.
