Winona Ryder Talks About ‘Beetlejuice 2’
At this point, the stories about Beetlejuice 2 are simply boiling down to “maybe”, and yet every little nugget that comes out might hold promise of some confirmation, some bit of news that lets us know the ghost with the most is back. Alas, this is not one of those times.
Talking with Collider, Ryder explained:
I don’t really know what’s going on with that. Obviously, it was an iconic film. The only way it could really ever be done is with Tim [Burton] and Michael [Keaton]. I don’t know. There’s something that really resonates with all ages, with that film. It’s interesting. I think it would be great if it happened, if it was the right circumstances. Gosh, you know you’re getting older when they’re making TV shows, sequels or plays for things that you did. It’s very flattering and very humbling, indeed. I heard they were making another Little Women. Mine was the fifth one, so that’s kudos to Louisa May Alcott. It’s just very flattering.
So, just as before there is nothing confirming nor denying that the film is in the minds of many of the original key players. We just need to wait and see if something concrete eventually lands on our doorstep.
In the meantime, we’ll just have to keep repeating his name three times in the hopes that he appears. “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice…” Nope. Nothing.
Ryder will next be appearing in the Netflix original series “Stranger Things”. More information about that series, including the trailer, can be found right here.
