Variety is reporting that Abbie Cornish (Sucker Punch, Seven Psychopaths), Dylan Gelula (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), and Garrett Wareing (Independence Day: Resurgence) have all signed on for Eddie Alcazar’s Puberty, which sounds rather Cronenberg-ian.
Per the site, “Wareing is portraying a teenage boy with a violent past who is haunted by dark visions and enters a mysterious clinic where the patients wildly transform their bodies and minds using genetic engineering. He undergoes treatment, installing therapeutic implants into his body — but discovers that purity of mind is not exactly what he’d imagined.”
Alcazar is producing and directing based on a script by Ted Kupper. Flying Lotus, aka Steven Ellison, will be executively producing the film as well as acting as the composer.
