A man at his wit’s end decides to try and silence the voice of his mother in his head by any means necessary in Andrew Elliot’s Matriarch. The special effects are subtle, yet gnarly, and the camera work creates a gorgeous juxtaposition against the gore.
Afterwards in Jason R Lees’ Mama’s Boy a boy takes on the household chores while his mother screeches at him from another room. Mama’s voice is creepy as f&^k, and leads us to wonder why the boy is in charge of such mundane, every day tasks?
We hope that in watching these men and their horrible mothers, your mommy issues diminish and in turn, cause you to have a greater respect for the woman who birthed you. Go hug your mom, but it might be best not to show her these films…
