WORLD OF DEATH Ep. 67 – Memitim / Marhaba

Oh hi there!  You seem to have stumbled into a very thought provoking episode of World of Death!  Today’s episode is all about the wrathful side of God, and God as a victim itself.

First in MEMITIM by Ryan Tse, a memitim (angel of death) explains the reason she is here on earth, and what will become of sinners when the judgement day comes.  MEMITIM is beautifully shot, I love the establishing shots of the barn and the way the light filters almost ethereally in through the cracks in the barn boards.  I get a big FRAILTY (Bill Paxton) vibe from the message of the film, that leaves me uneasy.  How can something so good, do things so horrible?  “The Lord works in mysterious ways”.

Next in Mikel Iriarte’s MARHABA (God is love), we get a bit of a lesson on how we treat the Earth, and God itself, when the narrator tells us to think of the Earth and God, and it’s imperfections, as we would a woman, and how hurting said woman doesn’t make much sense, and yet we hurt the Earth every day. It’s an interesting and thought provoking message, how far will we really take it?

We hope that out of today’s episode you can find the religious assistance you’re looking for.  Or, if you like, HEY LOOK!  BLOOD!

Stay scared, flock.
