‘Godzilla’ Will Battle Jordan Peele’s ‘Get Out’ Follow-up

Writer/director/producer JORDAN PEELE on the set of Universal Pictures’ “Get Out,” a speculative thriller from Blumhouse (producers of “The Visit,” “Insidious” series and “The Gift”) and the mind of Peele. When a young African-American man visits his white girlfriend’s family estate, he becomes ensnared in a more sinister real reason for the invitation.

Universal Pictures announced today that they will release Jordan Peele‘s “original and provocative” thriller in theaters on March 15, 2019, just a week before Warner Bros. Godzilla sequel. Peele’s next social thriller will have a budget that’s about five times bigger than the $5 million budget he had to work with on Get Out.

Earlier today Universal Pictures also dated The Bride of Frankenstein, which is to be directed by Bill Condon for release on February 14, 2019.  It will be the next film in the Universal monsters “Dark Universe” with Javier Bardem starring as Frankenstein’s monster. It’s expected that both The Mummy stars, Tom Cruise as a soldier of fortune Nick Morton and Oscar winner Russell Crowe as Dr. Henry Jekyll, will return.
