Reliving your murder over and over? That’s the premise of Universal Pictures’ Happy Death Day, which is pegged for release on October 13, 2017.

Originally titled Half to Death, Christopher Landon (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) directs Blumhouse’s latest in which a college student (Jessica Rothe; La La Land) relives the day of her murder with both its unexceptional details and terrifying end until she discovers her killer’s identity.

Ruby Modine, Charles Aitken, and Rachel Matthew star alongside Jessica Rothe and Israel Broussard.

Christopher Landon is directing from a script he co-penned with Scott Lobdell. Landon, who penned Disturbia and several Paranormal Activity sequels, also directed Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones and Paramount’s Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse.

Filming took place in New Orleans.

Co-founded Bloody Disgusting in 2001. Producer on Southbound, the V/H/S trilogy, SiREN, Under the Bed, and A Horrible Way to Die. Chicago-based. Horror, pizza and basketball connoisseur. Taco Bell daily.
