Another untimely death cripples this week as it’s being reported that John Heard has passed away at the age of 72.

He was found dead in a Palo Alto, CA hotel after undergoing back surgery. The Santa Clara Medical Examiner’s office confirmed his death, says Variety.

Best known to most as Peter McAllister in the Home Alone movies, us horror fans will always remember him as George Cooper in C.H.U.D. (1984). He was also seen in Paul Schrader’s Cat People (1984), The Seventh Sign (1988), as well as episodes of “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” and “The Outer Limits”. He also made an appearance in the first “Sharknado”.

We send our thoughts and prayers to his friends and family.
