Netflix’s ‘Cargo’ Trailer Sets the Stage For Heartbreak [Exclusive]

Fresh off his role in IFC’s festival hit Ghost StoriesMartin Freeman stars in Yolanda Ramke and Ben Howling’s zombie film Cargo as “…a father who, stranded in rural Australia in the aftermath of a violent pandemic and, infected himself, desperately seeks a new home for his infant child and a means to protect her from his own changing nature.

For his character, “Salvation may lie with an isolated Aboriginal tribe, but to gain access he must first earn the allegiance of a young Indigenous girl on a tragic quest of her own.

While an international trailer played up the zombies in the film, the official Netflix trailer that we’re debuting exclusively on Bloody Disgusting sets the stage for heartbreak. We learn more about Freeman’s plight, which can only end in tears. After losing his wife, and becoming infected, he must deliver his child to a new family.

After it’s Tribeca Film Festival screening this April, Netflix will add to its streaming service on May 18, 2018.

Anthony Hayes, Susie Porter, Caren Pistorius, Kris McQuade, Simone Landers, and David Gulpilil also star.

Cargo is produced by Kristina Ceyton, who produced 2014’s critically acclaimed psychological horror film The Babadook.
