‘Dead Snow’ Director Battles ‘Intruders’ with Blumhouse

Published

Blumhouse is in talks to finance Intruders, a thriller written by Tommy Wirkola, who’ll direct the film with an eye toward a summer production start, says Deadline.

In the pic, a mother escapes her abusive husband and takes her young daughter toward refuge in a secluded home, only to be assailed by intruders hungry for the gold that’s supposedly buried in the house.

It’s unclear if this is the same Blumhouse project in which Intruders in which extraterrestrials invade a home, but with the addition of “gold” to the synopsis, we think it’s possible. That spec, from John Swetnam and Harris Wilkinson, is said to center on “a home invasion set during an alien invasion.”

The Norwegian director, who followed his breakout Dead Snow with the R-rated fractured fairy tale Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, most recently directed What Happened To Monday?. Gary Sanchez is producing.

Horror movie fanatic who co-founded Bloody Disgusting in 2001. Producer on Southbound, V/H/S/2/3/94, SiREN, Under the Bed, and A Horrible Way to Die. Chicago-based.
