Nearly 30 years after uniting in 1992’s Francis Ford Coppola-directed Dracula, the great Keanu Reeves and the equally great Winona Ryder are back together as an on-screen couple in this year’s Destination Wedding, which is needless to say a must-watch for fans of both actors. Talking with EW about the film, Ryder just dropped an adorable bombshell.
As Ryder explained to the site, Coppola actually brought in a real Romanian priest for the filming of her fictional nuptials with Reeves on the set of Dracula, which means they technically truly got married during the filming of the movie… and they never got divorced!
“We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life,” Ryder told the site. “In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married.”
In the wake of the revelation, Reeves asked, “We said yes?“. To which Ryder replied, “Don’t you remember that? It was on Valentine’s Day.”
“Oh my gosh… we’re married,” Reeves realized.
