I love that Universal Pictures plays the slow game with their trailers, allowing fans to catch footage in theaters first before eventually making it available online. Much like with Unfriended: Dark Web, the trailer for Universal’s Happy Death Day 2U has been playing in theaters since October and was just this morning released online. If you enjoyed the first film, the sequel looks fantastic.
In addition to the trailer, Uni provided Bloody Disgusting with the first three official stills from the film in which our hero Tree Gelbman (Jessica Rothe) discovers that dying over and over was surprisingly easier than the dangers that lie ahead. What’s notable are the various masks, which remind us of Scream 2‘s use of multiple Ghostface masks.
Directed once again by Christopher Landon, it opens again and again on Valentine’s Day, 2019.
