Anthony Jaswinski, the writer of 2016 shark attack flick The Shallows, has another hot script on his hands with The French Quarter Will Not Be Spared, a spec that Lionsgate is in final negotiations to acquire. The news comes courtesy of Deadline tonight.
“Details for the script are being kept mum, but it is said to be a new take on the vampire genre set in New Orleans during hurricane Katrina. The goal is to make a visceral and socially relevant horror film in the vein of A Quiet Place or Get Out.”
The film will be a co-production between Kenya Barris’ Khalabo Ink Society and The Picture Company. Kenya Barris will produce along with Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman.
