In the wake of three Terrifier movies that dominated the box office and established him as one of the genre’s hottest filmmakers, Damien Leone is next directing an original horror feature.
The Hollywood Reporter lets us know this afternoon that Damien Leone will write, direct, and produce Tortures of the Damned for Lionsgate, with the upcoming original horror feature being produced by Sam Raimi’s company Ghost House Pictures.
The outlet notes that Leone will turn his attention to Tortures of the Damned AFTER Terrifier 4, which is being positioned as the final installment in the Art the Clown saga.
THR details, ” Plot details are unknown, but sources say it is different in tone from Terrifier and will sport a heftier budget than the low-budget Terrifier franchise.”
Scott O’Brien and Pavan Kalidindi will oversee Tortures of the Damned for Lionsgate, with Romel Adam and Jose Cañas overseeing and executive producing for Ghost House.

Tortures of the Damned will notably be Damien Leone’s first movie made with a studio. All three Terrifier films were independently made with very low-budgets, with Leone, his partner Phil Falcone, and their in-house filmmaking team handling the bulk of the workload.
Damien Leone’s Terrifier 4 is currently in pre-production.
Terrifier 4 will be set on New Year’s Eve, we recently learned. Leone says the script is “shaping up to be the most epic, horrifying, thrilling, emotional and satisfying conclusion.”
