Now available on IMDb and Fire TV devices, Freedive is the latest streaming service that hopes to catch on with movie lovers, offering up a host of titles like Netflix, Vudu and Amazon Prime, but standing out from the pack due to the fact that it’s free. You don’t have to sign up for a membership, and once on the service, you don’t have to pay a dime to watch anything.
“Customers already rely on IMDb to discover movies and TV shows and decide what to watch,” said Col Needham, founder and CEO of IMDB. “With the launch of IMDb Freedive, they can now also watch full-length movies and TV shows on IMDb and all Amazon Fire TV devices for free. We will continue to enhance IMDb Freedive based on customer feedback and will soon make it available more widely, including on IMDb’s leading mobile apps.”
At launch, the horror films available for streaming on Freedive include:
- Exorcist: The Beginning
- Urban Legend
- Resident Evil: Apocalypse
- Night of the Creeps
- Prom Night (1980)
- Idle Hands
- Harbinger Down
- Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein
The catch? Well, yeah, there is one. While all the movies are indeed free to stream, the downside is that they include ads. So don’t expect to stream anything without interruptions!
