While ‘The Hunt’ Trailer Plays in Theaters, Here’s a Teaser for Blumhouse’s “Private Hunting Experience” [Video]

Hunting season is open this September.

Blumhouse has become fond of releasing trailers in theaters *before* they arrive online, an interesting marketing tactic that has allowed for nice little surprises on the big screen. Take this weekend’s release of Crawl, for example, which has a trailer for Blumhouse’s new horror movie The Hunt attached to it. We damn sure didn’t expect that, as it’s not online yet.

In other words, you’ll have to go see Crawl in order to see the trailer for The Hunt, which looks like one hell of a gruesome good time.

For now, you can check out the first poster below as well as a newly released teaser that asks you to sign up to be the first to join The Manor, an exclusive private hunting experience.

Writer Damon Lindelof (LostWorld War Z, Prometheus) and his fellow The Leftovers collaborator Nick Cuse will soon bring audiences on The Hunt, a new politically charged action-thriller from director Craig Zobel (Z for ZachariahThe Leftovers) that’s arriving in theaters on September 27.

The cast includes Betty Gilpin, Hilary Swank, Emma RobertsJustin HartleyGlenn HowertonJim KlockCharli Slaughter and Dean West (The Highwaymen).

Here’s the official synopsis:

“Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They don’t know where they are, or how they got there. They don’t know they’ve been chosen… for a very specific purpose … The Hunt.

“In the shadow of a dark internet conspiracy theory, a group of globalist elites gathers for the very first time at a remote Manor House to hunt humans for sport. But the elites’ master plan is about to be derailed because one of the hunted, Crystal (Gilpin), knows The Hunters’ game better than they do. She turns the tables on the killers, picking them off, one by one, as she makes her way toward the mysterious woman (Swank) at the center of it all.”
