Zack Snyder, who was first introduced to horror fans through his excellent James Gunn-penned Dawn of the Dead remake, is returning to the zombie subgenre with his long gestured Army of the Dead for Netflix.
Production kicked off this summer with Dave Bautista sharing this photo of the entire cast on set, which includes Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi and Huma Qureshi and Garret Dillahunt.
Now, Synder has revealed his “skeleton crew” in a behind-the-scenes shot of the filmmaker directing the adventure set amid a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, during which a man assembles a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.”
“There are no handcuffs on me at all with this one,” Snyder previously told THR. “It will be the most kick-ass, self-aware — but not in a wink-to-the-camera way — balls-to-the-wall zombie freakshow that anyone has ever seen.”
Also starring are Omari Hardwick, Chris D’Elia, Hiroyuki Sanada, Raúl Castillo, Nora Arnezeder, Matthias Schweighöfer, Samantha Win and Rich Cetrone.
